Boller Continues to Look Like – Boller

Boller

Maybe the Ravens should have thought more about signing, or at least taking a harder look at former Dolphins and now Raiders QB Daunte Culpepper.  There is such a concern when you think about what the Ravens in 2007 might be like if Steve McNair goes down, and the team has to turn to Kyle Boller.  Amazing to think that for a number of years Boller was always that QB that was to become “the future” for the Ravens, and now that he enters his last year under contract, there is no doubt he will be looking for a new zip code to play in come 2008.

Also hard to believe that Boller had the sense to come out the other day and already start talking about moving on and playing elsewhere next season.  Hey Kyle – how about having a decent 2007 with a baseball cap (hopefully) before you start trying to audition for a job somewhere else in 2008?!  He spoke as if he was a multiple time Pro Bowl QB, not one that has underachieved his entire career.

Then on the heels of that talk, he had one of his worst practice sessions of the summer on Thursday, throwing behind TE Quinn Sypniewski on a lob pass and then fumbling a snap.  It’s that type of play that foreced the Ravens before the 2006 season to pull the plug on Boller as a starter and go out and get McNair.  But again, what if Steve goes down?  I shutter the thought.  Let’s just hope it doesn’t happen.
