TE Sypniewski may start Sunday vs. 49ers

Quinn Sypniewski, Baltimore Ravens tight endBased on the health status of the Baltimore Ravens’ top two tight ends, it is looking more likely that Quinn Sypniewski will start when the Ravens play the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday afternoon.  Currently, starter Todd Heap (hamstring)and reserve Daniel Wilcox (toe) are listed as questionable.

Team head coach Brian Billick told Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times, “One tight end, that’s limited.  We’ve got to account for it.  Little banged-up at receiver as well.  That stretches your depth at each position.  You have to factor it in.”  For the Ravens’ sake, they can only hope that the injuries to both Heap and Wilcox are short-term in nature as the Ravens’ passing game suffers with their current TE shortage – even more so with Heap out of the mix this week.
