Billick Hopeful McAlister Plays Sunday

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Chris McAlisterThe Baltimore Ravens’ secondary, without the services of cornerback Samari Rolle this week (undisclosed illness), can only hope that CB Chris McAlister will be available to them when they are at home Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.  McAlister did not practice on Friday, yet Ravens head coach Brian Billick has expressed optimism that McAlister could play this weekend.  He has been out the past three games with a strained knee and is listed as questionable.

McAlister’s participation in Sunday’s game is key, due to the fact that the Browns will without a doubt try to expose the Ravens’ secondary on passing downs.  Certainly being a little short-handed will not help Baltimore this weekend, so even having McAlister available, even just for 30-35 plays or so, can be nothing but beneficial to the Ravens.  Otherwise, you can expect Baltimore’s defense to spend an inordinate amount of time on the field.
