Boller To Remain Ravens’ QB Despite Blowout

                   Baltimore Ravens quarterback Kyle Boller

If there’s one thing that is a constant with the Baltimore Ravens, it is this: quarterback issues.  But to a degree, team head coach Brian Billick addressed that issue Monday by reiterating that quarterback Kyle Boller will remain the Ravens’ quarterback for the balance of the regular season.

Boller turned in one of his worst performances of the season last Sunday night, passing for only 132 yards and throwing 3 interceptions.  Billick told Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County (MD) Times, “Kyle is our starting quarterback.  It was nice to get Troy in a little bit and get his feet wet.  If that presents itself going forward, that would probably be a good thing.  But our best chance to win going forward is Kyle Boller remaining our starter.”  The Troy that Billick was referring to was reserve QB Troy Smith.

Billick defended Boller’s decision-making on the field despite the mistakes that have been a trademark of Boller throughout his career.  My take is this – like it or not, Boller is next season’s QB; as his recent contract signing would dictate.  But if he continues to have games like he had last week, he’ll be on a very short leash.  Boller is no doubt talented, but talent alone only takes you so far in the NFL.

okay well look at joe Flacco and the ravens offence this year. notice how flacco is not consistant by how much he throws the ball. I am a die hard ravens fan but the ravens have a weak offence and an obnormaly strong defence. kyle never had relyable wr and he was a gun slinger which i liked about him because he actually threw the ball. during the steelers play off game, none of the wr could catch anything! it only made flacco look bad which i believe made boller look bad all last year. i am torn between the flacco and boller disision for next season. The ravens need more resevers like ed reed (safety) because he is probebly better than most of the wr on the team. i think the team also should stop relying on conservative running plays and they need a gun slinger on the team who isnt afraid to throw the ball. for the running game, i think its time to stop willis’ short running yardage and bench him for ray rice. rice brings alot of explosive running power in the open field. him and flacco are the future of the ravens for offence. for defence, the future is young safty jim leanard.
