Those in the know and are familiar with the Baltimore Ravens current situation realize that the team is strapped financially and do not expect to make a big rush to the free agent market. Two of the Ravens’ players are unrestricted free agents – backup linebacker Nick Greisen and backup running back Musa Smith. Griesen is drawing interest from several teams as he plans some visits this week – he has already met with the Cleveland Browns ands is expected to visit the Seattle Seahawks today; a visit to the Atlanta Falcons is tentatively planned for later in the week. the Ravens have expressed some interest in re-signing Griesen – at presumably a bargain rate.
Smith, on the other hand, according to his agent, have no visits planned – although that can change at any time; according to Jack Reale, Smith’s agent, “We’re in a wait-and-see mode with Musa. Musa’s a good football player and he would love to be back with Baltimore. Hopefully, something can be worked out.” A similar situation remains out there for 3 other Ravens free agents, including safety Gerome Sapp, wide receiver Devard Darling and return specialist B.J. Sams.
