Boller Out for the Season

The season is over before it even got started for Ravens QB Kyle Boller, who today was placed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.  Coach John Harbaugh said today that injury appears to be either a torn labrum or other damage that would render Boller unable to play this year.

He was in line to at least have a good shot at being the Ravens starter this season, as he was going at it with Troy Smith and rookie Joe Flacco, who basically won the job by default.  This is the last year that Boller is under contract to the Ravens, and one has to wonder if they are going to bring him back if Smith and/or Flacco have a big year or if they just want to go with those two in the future anyway.

In 53 games with the Ravens since being drafted in the first round back in 2003, Boller has thrown for 45 TD’s and 44 picks. He has a total of 7846 yards and a QB rating of 71.9.

Time for Boller to go… I was excited when he first was drafted, but six years of disappointment and no return is enough.

Not saying Flacco or Smith will be better, but can we please move on?

  2. Jerie O'Connor says:

The Ravens have only played one regular season game and they already have nine, count-them nine players on the IRL (most notably QB Kyle Boller) meaning they are finished for the entire year. This does not bode well for a team that has to play fifteen straight weeks starting this Sunday due to the rescheduling of their bye week from week 10 to week 2 of the NFL season.
