CB McAlister Ailing

Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times and Annapolis Capital is reporting that Cornerback Chris McAlister is dealing with swelling in his right knee, an injury that bothered him periodically during the preseason. It’s likely that McAlister will have problems with the knee throughout the season and may eventually require surgery.

The Ravens are monitoring the injury closely, running tests on it since a 17-10 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. There is the potential that he may have an MRI as soon as today. McAlister intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble is a solid showing in the home opener.

But help will be on the way as, cornerbacks Fabian Washington and Derrick Martin were activated from the suspended list, and the Ravens cut offensive tackle Mike Kracalik and kicker Steve Hauschka to provide room on the roster.
