Defense Keeps Up the Heat; Will Have to Do it Again Sunday

Two straight wins for the Ravens has the team starting to get that winning attitude back again. While the win over Miami was good, Sunday’s win vs the Raiders was even better due to the fact they were able to dominate at home basically from start to finish.

The defense never allowed JaMarcus Russell and the Raiders to breathe. From outgaining them 375-234, to the fact they allowed them just 10 first downs, the Ravens landed blow after blow until they were able to get a couple of second quarter scores to go up 19-0 at the half.

The defense will have another interesting test Sunday, as they take on a Browns team on the road that has won three of four, and is starting to play like the Browns team that many thought would be a contender in the AFC North at the start of the season. The defense beat up Derek Anderson and company the first time around in a 28-10 win, and they will have to play just as good this Sunday.

For now, the D is allowing just 15.7 points per game, and 64.3 yards on the ground. While the formula has been to not allow runners much, they will have to keep bringing the heat Sunday to move to 5-3 and keep it a competitive race in the AFC North.
