Ravens Lewis a Free Agency Target of the Cowboys?

With free agency about two and a half months away, there are already some rumblings about teams that will target certain players and try to lure them with some big money. Life long Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis has an interesting decision coming his way, as he will be a free man come March unless he and the Ravens get something done in the meantime.

That leads to the rumor mill that Lewis very well may be heading to Big D – as in Dallas. Just one day after the loss in the AFC Title game to the Steelers, the Baltimore Sun is reporting that Lewis may be on the Cowboys radar as an impact player on defense that could come over and change the attitude of the unit that saw its coordinator fired last week.

The Sun states the following about Lewis: “Word around the NFL is that the Dallas Cowboys are very interested in obtaining Ravens inside linebacker Ray Lewis if he becomes a free agent. The speculation is that the Cowboys are willing to give Lewis a three-year deal worth between $27 and $30 million, with $25 million guaranteed.”

Lewis is getting up there in years, but if the Cowboys can land him, it would be a huge deal for a player that played with a lot of heart this past season getting the Ravens to one step before the Super Bowl.

There goes your last shot Ravens, lost your coordinator within seconds of losing, and now Ray Ray is saying Bye Bye too. It was such a pleasure beating you 1-2-3 times this year, it was also a pleasure to see your tatsteless fans leave our stadium well ahead of the trophy presentation. I guess while you figure out how to keep your team from dismanteling any further, we will try to figure out where we can put ANOTHER Lombardi Trophy.

  2. Not so fast my friend.

If Lewis leaves Baltimore I’d be shocked as the owner has been public saying he would outbid any potential suitors.

Tasteless fans on both sides too as some that watched the game with me cheered as McGahee lay motionless on the ground.

You’d like to think Baltimore is gone but they’ll be back.

BTW, Don’t sleep on Arizona like the rest of the NFL has.

I gotta feeling, Pittsburgh’s going to the Super Bowl!! Although i’m glad McGahee is okay, Baltimore’s McGahee getting laid out was legal and awesome!! Speaking of shameless and tasteless, all you heard from Mason, Ray “The Murderer Lewis”, other Ravens, and Baltimore fans, is they hope they kill Ward and it was good to knock Mendenhal out. Then these same players are praying for McGahee on the field. Come on give me a break!! Bunch of hypocrits! Baltimore is a Paper Tiger!! Hey Hey Hey! Goodbye!! Flacco 18% quarter back rating.. Lol!!! 1,2,3 YOUR OUT!!!!

If you saw Steelers fans cheering, you missed the audio, I missed the TV coverage but what I saw and heard were fans cheering him on, wishing him well. We love the rivalry and were happy to see the ferocious hit at first but we were concerned when we realized he was not moving. I was happy and surprised to hear that he was doing well, I thought he broke his neck. That being said, The Ravens Still Suck!
