Ravens 09 Schedule Three Key Moments by NFL.com

The Ravens lost to the Steelers three times last season — the first two had heartbreaking finishes, and the final defeat, in the AFC Championship Game, ended Baltimore’s dream season. But the Ravens receive their first crack at revenge in Week 12, when they host the defending Super Bowl champions on Sunday Night Football.

A rookie coach and a rookie quarterback brought the Ravens to the brink of the Super Bowl in 2008. John Harbaugh, Joe Flacco and Co. will have an early chance to show it wasn’t a fluke in Week 4, visiting the perennially powerful New England Patriots.

The AFC North faces the NFC North in the 2009 schedule rotation, and the Ravens’ most intriguing out-of-conference matchup, against the Chicago Bears, won’t come until Week 15. The Ravens probably were hoping for an early season contest, before new Bears QB Jay Cutler becomes comfortable in his new system. Baltimore hasn’t beaten Chicago since 2001, and in a game that could have playoff implications, Cutler’s late-season visit to M&T Bank Stadium might have Ravens fans nervous.
