WR Williams’ Poor Play Has Ravens Looking at WR Help

Want to know why the Ravens are looking at other options at WR? It’s due to the poor play so far from WR Demetrius Williams, who has yet to live up to the hype. The Baltimore Sun reports on that today:

Until Demetrius Williams proves he can stay on the field and make plays consistently, he is more option than answer for the passing game. In that light, it’s not surprising that the Ravens have explored the possibility of trading for disgruntled veteran receivers such as Anquan Boldin and Brandon Marshall. “Everybody’s seen glimpses of [Williams] the last two years,” said Cam Cameron, the Ravens’ second-year offensive coordinator. “But in reality, in my mind, we’ve got to be prepared to play without him.”

I don’t think it’s fair to say poor play, nor is it accurate. When he’s been on the field he has been good, with flashes of greatness.

As stated in the article (and already known by every Ravens fan) is that he can’t stay ON the field.

Agreed. The article didn’t say that and the quote is taken out of context.

The problems is that he hasn’t been able to play, not that he’s playing poorly…
