Posted in Samari Rolle will begin the season on the physically-unable-to-perform (PUP) list, but there is hope that the veteran cornerback could return and play later this season.
Rolle, who underwent surgery to repair a bulging disc in his neck in the offseason, has been on the PUP list since training camp started in late July and will not be able to play in the first six weeks of the regular season. After six weeks have elapsed, the Ravens will have a three-week window to either activate him on the 53-man roster or place him on injured reserve.
Rolle has been battling injuries for several seasons. He’s wanted to get back in the mix but has been unable to get any type of clearance to play. I know that everyone is hopeful but this may signal the end of Rolle’s career.
In more positive news Terrell Suggs returned to practice for the first time since August 2nd and the staff expressed optimism that he’ll appear in Thursday’s pre-season finale against the Falcons. Suggs himself was a bit more cautious about the possibility of suiting up.
Mark Clayton’s status however is “less than possible” that he’ll play even though he has returned to practice too. As well as Kelly Gregg who is anxious to get back on the field also.
Since this is the last exhibition game I wouldn’t expect too much because if any of them do play it won’t be for very long.
