Heap Heap Hurray!

Tight end Todd Heap still possesses the skills to be a major factor in the Ravens offense. It was evident from the Ravens last preseason game against Carolina that Heap is an important factor in the passing game. Heap was an effective target in the third preseason game and showed he still possesses the skills to be a major factor in the Ravens offense. Offensive coordinator Cam Cameron wants to open up passing game down the middle of the field and Heap is one of those weapons that QB Joe Flacco needs.

In the Carolina game the Ravens offense showed they are not going to shy away from the passing game if the running game is boxed in and that means Heap will have more opportunities. Last year Heap had to stay in and help with blocking and this year with first round pick Tackle Michael Oher, Heap looks to have more opportunities receiving. It wouldn’t be hard to imagine Heap becoming Flacco’s second favorite receiver behind Derrick Mason. Heap had 4 catches for 35 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s win over Carolina.&nbs p;
