Ravens rookies may be contributing to this Sunday’s game. Take look at some of the rookie updates:

Lardarius Webb

Baltimoresun.com reports that there is chance that rookie cornerback and returner Lardarius Webb could be handling the kickoff returns this Sunday. The Ravens are looking to give a boost to the return game and improve field position with Webb as the returner. Webb had one kickoff return against the Patriots for 38 yards in last week’s game. In his single return Webb showed off his speed and hit the crease that the blockers provided. Chris Carr who has been relatively steady would still handle punt returns.

The Ravens rank ninth in the NFL in average start on kickoffs, and Chris Carr is seventh in the AFC and 15th in the league with a 24.5-yard average on kick returns. But Carr was stripped of the football on the opening kickoff of Sunday’s 27-21 loss to the New England Patriots which led to a Stephen Gostkowski field goal. –Baltimoresun.com

Dannell Ellerbe

Baltimoresun.com reports that Ellerbe who filled in for Tavares Gooden in New England may get the start against the Bengals. Linebacker Dannell Ellerbe had significant game time last week against the Patriots and impression with his coaches. The Ravens like Ellerbe’s aggressiveness and he showed versatility at the linebacker position.

Paul Kruger

Sources close to Ravensgab.com say there is a possibility that we may see more of defensive end Paul Kruger. The rookie has played special teams and taken a few snaps, but this week Kruger may be part of the game plan for the defense.

Michael Oher

Michael Oher would start at left tackle against the Cincinnati Bengals if starting left tackle Jared Gaither is unable to play. Gaither suffered a neck injury but the good news is that the injury is not serious and he should be ready for following game if out this Sunday. Oher faired well in his first appearance at left tackle in New England.
