Sorry for the delay wrapping up this final segment in handing out our season awards. I’ve been shoveling since Sunday and with twenty more inches headed our way by the end of Wednesday night I’ve got another sore back in my future.
But, honestly there really wasn’t much suspense on this selection, was there?
Ray Rice made a spectacular leap this season. Without him it’s hard to imagine where the Baltimore offense would have been. His shifty speed turned a few yards into long gains and his relentlessness gave the team First downs when it looked like a sure punting situation.
Look at the numbers:
254 attempts – 1339 yards – 83.7 ypg -7 TDs
78 receptions – 702 yards – 43 ypg – 1 TD
A double threat who has a bright future ahead of him. Now if the Ravens could just get a few play makers to supplement him then he won’t be keyed on quite so much in 2010.
