Ravens Sign 6th Round Pick OT Ramon Harewood

Ron Fritz of the Baltimore Sun reports that the Ravens today have come to terms with OT Ramon Harewood, the teams last pick in the 2010 Draft.

The Ravens today reached a three-year agreement with offensive tackle Ramon Harewood, the team’s final pick in this year’s draft. Harewood, a sixth-round pick out of Morehouse, is considered a developmental player who likely won’t make an impact this year. But the Ravens have expectations for the 6-foot-6, 341-pound Barbados native. “Ramon Harewood is a huge man,” Ravens director of college scouting Joe Hortiz said. “He’s a giant. He can knock down his side of the line of scrimmage. He’s raw, and he needs a lot of developmental work with technique, but he’s got foot speed – he ran a 5.08 [40-yard dash] at his pro day. He’s got a lot of work to do, but he’s got the passion and drive to get better.” Harewood missed most of the offseason camps after damaging the soft tissue in his right knee. He returned to participate in individual drills and should be ready to suit up for the start of training camp in late July.
