Cousins and Webb Both Listed as “Probable” for Monday Night

From the Ravens Insider:

Coach John Harbaugh is coy about whether RT Oniel Cousins or CB Lardarius Webb will start Monday night vs. the Jets. Both practiced fully Saturday and are listed as “probable.” Harbaugh, though, wouldn’t say if either would start. Cousins (concussion) has missed the past two weeks. He has struggled at the right tackle position—especially in pass protection—but the coaches like his potential. If Cousins doesn’t start, the Ravens would go with Tony Moll. If he struggles, look for the coaches to go with Cousins or move RG Marshal Yanda outside and insert Chris Chester at right guard. Yanda is the best answer to the tackle problem, but the coaches don’t want to move him from guard like they did two years ago. Webb (knee) missed all of camp and preseason. The coaches probably will only use him in an emergency situation.

More good news on the injury front, especially Webb. But even if he is active I wouldn’t expect to see much of him on the field against the Jets. He finally gone full-tilt in practice and there isn’t any reason to rush him back when he appears to have such a bright career ahead of him.

Cousins also looks to be back and I’m an still very concerned about his pass protection skills as well as his ability to keep his emotions in check. I can see why they don’t want to move Yanda just yet but depending on Gaither’s status it’s something they may have to think about in the future. Meanwhile Tony Moll gets the call.
