Ravens Not Interested in Former Jets WR Jerricho Cotchery

The Ravens are reportedly not all that interested in going after the player that was just cut for former Ravens WR Derrick Mason – that being wide out Jerricho Cotchery.

After Derrick Mason signed with the New York Jets, it was assumed that the Ravens would pursue Jerricho Cotchery. Cotchery’s agent has talked to the Ravens, but it doesn’t appear like the Ravens are aggressively pursuing him. A team source said Cotchery is interested in playing for the Ravens, describing the 29-year-old receiver as a good player and a great person. Asked if the Ravens were focusing on Cotchery, the source said, “We’ll see.” The Ravens have hinted at pairing rookies Torrey Smith and Tandon Doss with Anquan Boldin. “We did draft them because we thought they were guys that would get up to speed quickly,” coach John Harbaugh said last week. “They’re smart guys. They catch the ball well. They’re good football players.” Cotchery visited the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, and it is believed he has other visits scheduled.
