Harbaugh Expects Webb to Play on Sunday

It was being reported around most news outlets yesterday that starting Cornerback Lardarius Webb had suffered a Turf Toe injury towards the end of the 24-10 victory over Indianapolis.

The injury could range from one to three weeks or have him out until the playoffs. But John Harbaugh seemed to dispute that notion in his Monday Press Conference.

“As far as injuries go, just like [Sunday] night, there’s nothing serious coming out of that game,” Harbaugh said. “We’ve got bumps and bruises. There may be some guys that we rest throughout the course of the week practice-wise, but we anticipate everybody that was playing last week health-wise to be healthy this week, and we’re hoping to add some guys. We’ll see. We’ve got guys like Ray [Lewis], Chris Carr off the top of my head.”

“Lardarius played last week so you have that answer. But those other two guys (Lewis and Carr), we have a chance for this week. We’ll just have to see.”

I guess we will. This is the third “toe” injury that a Ravens player has sustained this season. Both Ben Grubbs and Ray Lewis were out multiple weeks and there is still speculation as to weather Lewis would be able to return for this week’s San Diego matchup on Sunday night.

Webb is having a fantastic 2011 season and his absence would be felt in the secondary as they attempt to stop Vincent Jackson and Antonio Gates this week. You also have to wonder who would return Punts since Webb has taken over those duties in the past few weeks and ran a one back for a score against Cleveland two weeks ago.
