Ravens to Evaluate Cundiff

It hasn’t been much of a sequel to Billy Cundiff’s All Pro season of a year ago.

This season he’s struggled with Field Goals as of late (2 for 5 in the last three games) and has battled a calf injury that’s limited his practice time as well. Las Sunday he missed a 36-yarder on the opening drive in San Diego that killed any early momentum for the Ravens. On Monday, Head Coach John Harbaugh said that Cundiff will be evaluated this week to see if he will play this Saturday when the Ravens host the Browns.

Personally I don’t like this situation and how its developed. I know that the team signed him to a Five-year, $15 million dollar deal but he’s had issues both mentally and physically this season. The Ravens need to win out over the last two games and they should be able to sew up the Number #2 seed which means a Bye and a Home playoff game. I’d hate to see the kicking game derail another very good season.

Shayne Graham would be an excellent option. Graham, if you remember was beaten out by Cundiff last season but has since stayed active in the league. He kicked for the Patriots in 2010 and was 12 for 12 on Field Goal. He also had a brief stint with the Miami Dolphins this seasonĀ  and was 4 for 5 on Field Goals in 2 games. I wouldn’t mess around with this much longer. It makes sense to get Graham in here and get him ready.
