Ed Reed Has Been Playing Injured

There’s been a lot of talk about the Ravens two most decorated and senior members of the Defense – Ray Lewis and Ed Reed and most of it hasn’t been complementary.

Words like, “Lost a step” and “Washed-up” have crept into the minds of some fans as they wonder if the curtain is closing on two great careers.

Ed Reed though recently discussed his tackling issues in the past several game as well as his shoulder.

“I had a stinger hurt me this year so bad in my right shoulder to where now it has affected my deltoid (muscle in the shoulder) and my scapula,” Reed told the AFC North blog. “My shoulder has just been hanging on the last couple of weeks. You could see how it has affected me for the most part. I think I’ve missed one tackle for four games straight, one in each game.”

Reed hasn’t been listed on the injury report but he certainly hasn’t looked very good on the field as of late. I don’t think this will affect this Sunday but I’ve said this each year in regards to Reed’s career. He has so many injuries over the past few seasons that he has to take things season by season.

Let’s keep an eye on this situation.
