BGR Mock Draft II

Here we go! Our columnists give their most recent predictions for our second Mock Draft.

With the 29th pick in the 2012 draft the Ravens select:

Gene Winner: Dont’a Hightower, LB, Alabama

“If Dont’a Hightower can slide down to the bottom part of the first round, it would be a tremendous pick-up. There’s been speculation that the Ravens trade back to add more picks; drafting for depth. But, Ozzie Newsome isn’t afraid to trade up if he covets a player.  A talent like Dont’a Hightower or OLB Courtney Upshaw are players the Ravens covet. Hightower would fit right into the Ravens defensive plans and the team needs to add to it’s linebacking core.”

Previous pick: OLB Courtney Upshaw

Jonathan Scruggs: Peter Konz, C, WI

“Nothing has changed my assessment that the Ravens need to upgrade their offensive line at the center position. Konz is the perfect candidate to fill that role and also to fill in at guard in the absence of Ben Grubbs while he matures into Matt Birk’s replacement.”

Previous pick: Peter Konz, C

Matt Jergensen: Stephen Hill, WR, Georgia Tech

“At this stage I think Hightower may end up going earlier which would allow Baltimore to grab another weapon for Joe Flacco’s offense. Hill can stretch the field with great athletic ability and allow Anquan Boldin to work from the slot where he can be most effective.”

Previous pick: Dont’a Hightower, LB

Ben Zinman: Kevin Zeitler, G, WI

“My choice for who the Ravens should go after in the first round has not changed. The guard from Wisconsin, Kevin Zeitler,  who the Ravens were paying alot of attention to during  the combine would be my choice. With the departure of Ben Grubbs maintaining superior quality strengh along the offensive line now becomes even more critical to the overall success of the team.”
