Ravens Release Cundiff

Goodbye Billy

The Baltimore Ravens released former Pro Bowl kicker Billy Cundiff Sunday morning, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Cundiff made 28 of his 37 attempts last season but missed a 32-yard attempt in the final minute of the AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots that would have tied the game.

He has been in a competition with undrafted rookie Justin Tucker, who did all the kicking in Baltimore’s last preseason game Thursday night and was successful on a 53-yard field goal attempt.

So Ravens fans it looks like Tucker for 2012. How do you feel about the Ravens decision to let Cundiff, “take his services elsewhere?”

  1. GW says:

Cundiff was inconsistent all of last year, not just on the kick in the AFC Championship game. Let the kid have a go of it.
