Ravens Cut Nine Players

A few more cuts must be made by 4 p.m. today.

The Ravens have made their first round of training camp moves by cutting nine players Sunday. That’s bring the roster total to 81, but the team must trim down to 75 by Monday’s 4 p.m. deadline.

The most notable was Kicker Billy Cundiff who lost his job to undrafted Free Agent Justin Tucker. Others include, Tight End Davon Drew, Wide Reciever Devin Goda, Lineman Addison Lawrence, Corner Jordan Mabin, Center Cecil Newton, Long Snapper Patrick Scales, Quarterback Chester Stewart, and Wide Reciever Patrick Williams.

The remaining six required roster reductions could be made with more cuts or moving players like Emanuel Cook(broken leg) and Ryan McBean (broken ankle) to injured reserve.

Aside from Cundiff the only other notable release was Davon Drew. The former fifth-round draft pick was hoping to earn a spot on the active roster after spending the last two years on the practice squad.
