Rams Roll Over Ravens 31-17

Rams First Team vs. Ravens Second & Third. Yawn.

The St. Louis Rams defeated the Baltimore Ravens 31-17 in both teams final game of the 2012 pre-season.

The Rams, who aren’t expected to to compete for a playoff spot this season, used their starters for the First Half while Baltimore played it’s backups. Rams Quarterback Sam Bradford took full advantage and played well into the Second Quarter and finished 11 for 16 for 175 yards and three touchdowns.

Back-up Tyrod Taylor guided the Ravens offense for the first half, and Curtis Painter who is fighting to stay on the 53-man roster played the second half. Taylor finished 8 for 12 for 58 yards while Painter was more productive and erratic going 19 for 31 with two touchdowns and three interceptions.

You have to wonder how much the Ravens coaching staff was able to learn from this game other than the fact that the Rams starters are better than the Ravens reserves.

Baltimore opens the season on Monday Night Football against the Cincinnati Bengals on September 10th at 7:00. But before that, final cutdown day looms as those on the bubble learn their fate.
