Ravens cut Stokley, resign Bajema

With the return of Deonte Thompson to the Ravens lineup, and with Jacoby Jones not too far behind him, Brandon Stokley had become expendable for the Ravens. The receiver position is still a question mark for this team, but with all of the young talent, the team  felt like they had to get these young guys on the field. It didn’t help Stokley either that he was dealing with a groin injury these past few weeks, and it eventually became clear that the team was ready to move on. It is now time to really see what Deonte Thompson and even Tandon Doss can do on the field with extensive playing time.

In a corresponding move, the Ravens resigned tight end Billy Bajema, who was cut when the team traded for new left tackle Eugene Monroe.

  1. Jeff says:

This is not a cut. Aaron Wilson says he is expected to be re-signed on Monday. Seems like he is not going to play because of injury so they are having to cut him temporarily to open a roster spot for Bajema. Seems like right now with Monroe’s addition this is the way they are maintaining a roster of 54 men until McKinnie leaves. Then they won’t have to do this any more. BTW, this is what the Bengals were doing with their injured safety, cutting him on Saturday and re-signing him on Monday, which is how we stole that player (forget his name).
