Ravens re-sign Stokley; Cut Bajema

Looks like Ozzie Newsome is playing musical chairs with his roster these days. Just a few days removed from releasing wide receiver Brandon Stokley and re-signing backup tight end Billy Bajema, the team is reversing the transaction by re-signing Stokley and sending Bajema back to free agency. Clearly, the transaction from a few days ago was for the Dolphins game. The Ravens knew Stokley wouldn’t be ready to go in time for this past Sunday’s game, so they released him to add Bajema, a veteran from the Super Bowl team, who could step in and play against the Dolphins. This move would appear to mean that Stokley is healthy from his groin injury and will be able to suit up this Sunday against the Packers. With all the wide receivers getting healthy around the same time it will be interesting to see how the team plans on using them going forward.

  1. Johnny Adams says:

After leaving the Ravens following the 2012 season, Bajema was re-signed by the club one day before its 2013 season opener, filling the roster spot opened by starting tight end Dennis Pitta’s injury.
