Inside linebacker Jameel McClain appeared in his first practice of the 2013 season today after dealing with a spinal cord injury. McClain suffered the injury last December and hasn’t appeared in a game since. It is unknown if we will see McClain return to the field this weekend against the Steelers, but this is a great sign for the veteran who’s career was in jeopardy. When he is fully healthy I would expect to see him back in the starting lineup at some point, replacing linebacker Josh Bynes.
In other news, defensive lineman Terrence Cody returned to practice for the first time since spraining his knee against the Texans in week 3. The defense has been struggling to stop the run these past few weeks, so getting Cody back on the field should help. If he continues to practice for the rest of the week I wouldn’t be surprised to see him active on Sunday.
