Pitta returns to practice

The Ravens got the best news of their season when tight end, and quarterback Joe Flacco’s safety blanket, Dennis Pitta, returned to practice today. The tight end had fractured and dislocated his hip in training camp this year, and has been on Injured Reserve designated for return ever since. Neither Coach John Harbaugh or Pitta gave a timetable for his return, but this is obviously a good sign. I think Pitta will be able to play this season if need be, but that is a big if. If the Ravens continue losing and are out of contention then there is no reason for Pitta to be out there and risk hurting himself further. If they remain in contention and win these next three games, then maybe we will see Pitta, but there is no reason to rush him back and take the chance of a further setback. It is anybody’s guess at this point, but at least #88 was back on the field today.
