Sunday’s Results

With the Ravens in the hunt for the last playoff spot in the AFC we take a look at how Sunday’s games affected the team’s playoff efforts:

Jets 3 Dolphins 23- As a result of this game the Jets fall to 5-7 and look to be out of the race due to their awful quarterback play. They have been free falling the past three weeks and it would be surprising to see them rebound and fight for the last wild card spot. The Dolphins improved to 6-6, meaning they are tied with the Ravens for the last playoff spot. The Ravens hold the tiebreaker over Miami, however, since they beat the team earlier in the season.

Titans 14 Colts 22- The Titans, who entered today as the 6th playoff team in the AFC, fell to 5-7 and one game back from the wild card spot. The Titans are a streaky team and it was important for them to lose to their division rival and fall one game back from the Ravens.

Chargers 10 Bengals 17- Ultimately, this game was a win-win for the Ravens as it either put them one game behind the Bengals for the division lead or it gave them the other wild card spot in the AFC. With the Bengals winning, the Ravens now control their own destiny to make the postseason and they still have a chance of winning the division. If the Ravens enter their week 17 matchup with the Bengals either tied with them or one game behind them, they can win the division if they are able to defeat Cincinnati.
