It’s one of the most oddest stories of the day, a Ravens Super Bowl ring up for grabs for the almighty dollar.
Damien Berry‘s Super Bowl XLVII ring is up for auction, this less than a year after he earned it as part of the Ravens team that beat the Niners for a NFL Championship.
BaltimoreRavens.com said Berry’s ring is one of 12 championship rings that will be up for auction starting January 13th at the siteG oldinAuction.com.
There’s another ring for the Ravens up for grabs, that being linebacker Jamie Sharper‘s ring from Super Bowl XXXV.
As for Berry, he was part of the Ravens’ practice squad in 2011, then on injured reserve all of last season as the Ravens won the title.
He was cut by the Ravens before this season and not picked up by another team. He never appeared in any game for the Ravens.
“This is a rare opportunity for a fan or a collector to own a Super Bowl ring less than a year after it was earned and one from a landmark NFL game,” Goldin Auctions founder Ken Goldin told the Ravens’ website.
It’s a chance to own a once in a lifetime item – one that most people would rather be surprised to see based on how hard it is to get a Super Bowl ring.
