Former Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski is one of the possibilities for the Ravens open offensive coordinator job according to Jeff Zrebiec and Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun.
Other candidates mentioned are ex-Redskins OC Kyle Shanahan, ex-Texans coach Gary Kubiak, in-house WRs coach Jim Hostler, Saints QBs coach Joe Lombardi, and Chiefs “spread game analyst” Brad Childress.
Shanahan is the only candidate known to have been interviewed thus far. Chudzinski would be an intriguing fit in Baltimore.
He is a major fan of vertical offenses, which would seem to be a perfect fit for the big arm of QB Joe Flacco and the deep speed of WR Torrey Smith.
The Ravens OC job is considered a plum in NFL circles in light of the organization’s stability and the player-procurement talents of GM Ozzie Newsome.
It has also been a great springboard of coaches as three of head coach John Harbaugh’s coordinators-Rex Ryan, Chuck Pagano, and Jim Caldwell have landed head coaching positions.
