Ravens Sign OLB Roberts, Cut QB Stephens

The Ravens have signed undrafted rookie outside linebacker D.J. Roberts and cut quarterback Nick Stephens, Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports.

Roberts participated in the Ravens’ rookie minicamp on a tryout basis.

He played collegiately at Tennessee-Martin where he rhad 53 tackles, 11 for losses, four sacks and a forced fumble last season. He finished his career with 12.5 sacks.

Stephens is a former Tartleton State player who began his career at Tennessee. He was signed to the Ravens’ practice squad in October and signed to a reserve-future deal after the season.

The Ravens now have three quarterbacks on the roster: Joe Flacco and backups Tyrod Taylor and Keith Wenning, a rookie sixth-round draft pick.

  1. Berdj J. Rassam says:

Stephens is 27 years old and has never thrown a pass in an NFL game – safe to say next year he will be 28 years old without having thrown an NFL pass. Good move to cut him.
