Ravens Work Out Former Texans QB Ryan Mallett

Former Texans quarterback Ryan Mallett worked out for the Ravens on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The Ravens lost starting quarterback Joe Flacco to a season-ending knee injury two weeks ago, with former Texans starter Matt Schaub starting Monday’s game at Cleveland, which the Ravens won on a blocked field goal returned for a touchdown as time expired.

Mallett was released on Oct. 28 by the Texans, days after he missed a team charger flight for a road trip against the Miami Dolphins.

Mallett had a history of tardiness for team activities with the Texans.

Mallett previously missed practice during training camp days after Brian Hoyer was named the starter, attributing his oversleeping to his phone alarm not going off and vowing to Smith that he would buy an alarm clock and it wouldn’t happen again. But yet it did just months later as Mallett blamed traffic in Houston on him not making it to the Texans’ flight for this last road game.
