Ravens Ink Former Broncos OLB Shane Ray

Former Broncos outside linebacker Shane Ray has inked a one-year deal to join the Baltimore Ravens pending a physical according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Originally the No.23 pick in the 2015 draft out of the University of Missouri, Ray started his pro career off well with 12 sacks in his first two seasons and a stellar performance in the Broncos 2016 Super Bowl win.

Injuries and inconsistent play have plagued him since, however, as he ended up ended up missing 13 games to injury the last two years and generated a woeful two sacks in 19 games. The Brocnos declined his fifth-year option and allowed him to become a free agent this spring.

Ray took visits with the Colts, Raiders, and Seahawks earlier in free agency, but the Ravens now swoop in when free agents no longer affect the compensatory-pick formula.

The Ravens are in serious need of pass rushing help after enduring significant losses in free agency and Ray is definitely worth a flier. He turns 26 years old on Saturday.
