Reliving Some of the Thrilling Moments of the Ravens 2019 Season

While there are still a lot of bitter feelings over what took place last week in Baltimore in the AFC Divisional Playoff game, no one can deny that the Ravens had an amazing 2019 campaign.

The club won 14 out of 16 regular season games, winning 14 straight after an early season loss at home to the Cleveland Browns.

The Ravens were favorites in most of their games once they got on a roll, and checking bet-ny you can see that the team steamrolled through most of the competition the last few months of 2019.

It was a season to remember with sensational plays from young players like second-year quarterback Lamar Jackson, and a defense that dominated most of the offenses that they played throughout the season.

The team was so good which is why the the loss at home 28-16 to the Tennessee Titans was such a crazy shock. The Birds just never showed signs of a letdown as they ran through the competition, and it looked like it was all lining up for a long playoff run.

But that wasn’t the case, and today we go back and try to give the fans something fun to look back on, reliving some of the great moments that the Ravens had during the 2019 campaign.

1. An Opening Day Dominance

The Ravens went to Miami on opening day and while there were questions about Lamar Jackson and him throwing the football, all that he did was hit just about every pass, completing both long and short passes.

He was teased in the postgame on if he was a pure pocket passer, and he showed during the win that those were questions that didn’t need to be asked anymore.

It was the start of a sensational season for Jackson.

2. Taking a Chance in Seattle

The Seahawks and Ravens were deadlocked at 13 in a week seven game in Seattle, but despite being on the road that didn’t stop the team from being aggressive and taking chances.

The team went for it on a 4th-and-3 and converted, sending a message that they were not going to be intimated by the Hawks rough and tough defense, and it set up a score that gave them the lead and they never looked back.

The Birds all season took chances on fourth down, and it paid off just about every time, with Jackson making great plays and converting the chances they gave him.

Look for even more of that in 2020.

3. Just that Fast

The Ravens were in a dogfight by the Lakefront in Cleveland on December 22nd, and actually found themselves trailing the Browns by a score of 6-0 late in the second quarter.

That’s when the Ravens went to work, as they started to impose their will on defense, coming up with some big plays late in the first half, and converting them to score two touchdowns in a super quick fashion.

The key was tight end Mark Andrews, who scored on a broken play a 39-yard score, and then again on a 14-yard score with nine seconds left in the quarter.

The two scores keyed the Ravens runaway win, and they were able to dominate one of the two teams that beat them in the regular season, walking out of Cleveland with a 31-15 win.

It showed again how good and effective that the Ravens offense could be when pushed up against the wall.
