Why The Ravens Could Be Super Bowl Contenders This Season

New England Patriots vs Baltimore Ravens, 2015 AFC Divisional Playoffs

Back in 2013, the Baltimore Ravens battled it out against the San Francisco in Super Bowl XLVII, coming out victorious with a hard-fought 34-31 win and bringing joy to Ravens fans everywhere.

Since then, there have been some close calls, but no cigar. But many experts believe that the Ravens have what it takes to make a run at the Super Bowl this season, and we’re pretty damn excited about this prospect!

According to FanDuel, the Ravens are tied with the Los Angeles Rams with the fifth-best odds to win Super Bowl LVI behind the Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Buffalo Bills, and San Francisco 49ers. FanDuel also has the Ravens as the seventh-best team in their Power Rankings behind the Chiefs, Buccaneers, Bills, Rams, 49ers and Cleveland Browns.

Lamar Jackson is entering his fourth season as the Ravens QB, and he’s led the team to the playoffs in each of the past three years and has led the league in rushing for the past two seasons.

With the addition of veteran WR Sammy Watkins and some of this year’s draft picks, Baltimore has boosted its passing attack. And their defense is expected to be strong as well.

Pro Football Focus seems to back this up as well, ranking the Ravens with the fifth-best roster in the NFL going into the 2021 season, stacked with plenty of talented individuals that could take the team to the Big Game.

Watkins thinks that they’ve got enough young talent, great coaches, and the right vibe to follow in KC’s footsteps and make a run for the Super Bowl.

It should be fun to see how the season plays out. If you’re feeling confident in the Ravens’ chances this season, this might be the time to put your money where your mouth is, especially now that it’s legal to bet. In fact, according to Sports Betting Dime, Maryland state officials estimate that sports wagering could generate up to $20 million a year in tax revenue.
