Ray Lewis to return in Week 15 Sunday Night at San Diego?

Baltimore Ravens All-Pro middle linebacker Ray Lewis is regarded as unlikely to play Sunday against the winless Indianapolis Colts due to a right turf toe injury that has sidelined him for the past three games, according to Aaron Wilson of theĀ Carroll County Times.

However, the former NFL Defensive Player of the Year is expected to return against the San Diego Chargers the following week.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh expressed optimism about Lewis’ recovery, but was noncommittal on when he might get back on the field. The Ravens rested offensive guard Ben Grubbs for seven games due to turf toe suffered in the first game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“He’s doing quite well,” Harbaugh said. “He was bouncing around the field [Sunday] before the game. Did you notice? You saw what I saw. We’re hopeful. I would love to give you a definitive answer and I understand what you’re saying, all the arguments.”
